Amalia's First Half Birthday!

Today Amalia turned the big #1/2. She is growing up fast! Half a year is also about the average time between our blog posts. Today we will show you a few pictures of our little one from months 4, 5, and 6. We will also mention a few fun activities we've been up to.

So here we are at 4 months. Notable developments: rolling around, pensive posing. Events: Uncle Tim and Aunt Lydia came for a visit, and we all went on a surprise trip to Colorado to celebrate Eric's birthday with lots of family.
5 Months: Now we are gumming on everything we can get our hands on (see illustration at right) and reaching for mommy and daddy (and for stuff to gum). This was a busy month, as it involved lots of holiday travel. But traveling means lots of new people to talk to and smile at. Amalia got to fly the new direct route from Chicago to Manhattan, KS to spend Christmas with grandparents, aunts & uncles and cousin Clark. She also got to meet great-grandparents Weddle and see great-great-grandma Helen again.

And here we are at 6 months. Instead of a half-birthday cake, Amalia got to try rice cereal for the first time. Not Rice Crispies--just some bland stuff mixed with milk--not even crunchy at all. She liked it anyway.

Another big event here is that we have our first Bonsai tree. Liz is especially excited about this--she has been researching these for awhile. We have lots of plans for starting our own once we have a place to keep them.

Well, that's all for today. We have a tendency to start blog posts and never finish them. In fact, if we had finished all the posts we started, there would be, like, 4 posts a year!
