Milestones

We celebrated two momentous occasions this month. The first was Liz's birthday. We observed it by throwing a costume party. The theme: dress as your favorite opera or film character (some people don't know any opera characters). Liz stole the show, stunningly dressed as the Queen of the Night. Recalling my secret childhood ambition to be a cowboy, I dressed as the next closest thing: Escamillo, the Spanish bullfighter from Carmen. Also, this was a good final use for my old baseball pants, decorated with some elaborate ribbons from Walmart. Aren't we clever?

Undaunted by the challenge of topping our costumes, several friends showed up too.

2 YEARS!!!

Can you believe it!? On August 19th, we celebrated our second anniversary. Here is Liz to tell you about it.
Eric surprised me with a romantic dinner cruise on Lake Michigan! Wahoo! It was so fun! They even had a jazz combo and dancing. You may find this hard to believe, but we were the first couple to get the dancing started, and people CLAPPED for us! Eric is an amazing dancer! The pics below are of us with the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background, and then the special dessert they had for us (they put rose petals on our table) to celebrate our special day!
